One of the most valuable benefits of studying in the United States on an F1 visa is the ability to gain practical work experience through Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).
What is CPT?
CPT allows F1 students to work in a position directly related to their major while enrolled in their degree program. At SSU, CPT is available in every degree program — MBA, MSIT, and BBA.
What is OPT?
OPT is a post-graduation work authorization that allows you to work in your field of study for up to 12 months after completing your program. STEM-designated programs may qualify for a 24-month extension.
